Over the last few decades the level of anxiety in our society has increased significantly. So, take a society where anxiety is already a problem, then add a toxic political climate, racial conflict and unrest, a world wide pandemic, which in the end will probably kill over a million people, all happening during a presidential election year, and you might be inclined to ask, Is God punishing us? It can certainly feel that way. Many Christians have asked that very question. So, is the pandemic God’s just punishment for a world mired in sin and evil? Is it some kind of sign? If so, what is God trying to tell us?
We will be exploring these very questions in this, our new sermon series “Is God Punishing Us?” We will find that the answer to these questions is... complicated, and that the Bible has much to say... none of it simplistic.
Join us now for part 1 of our series “Is God Punishing Us?” titled “The God of the Old Testament.”
