We say that when Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit they fell into sin. Theologians call this The Fall. But what if The Fall did not make our spiritual ancestors so much evil, as it left them wounded? What if our suffering stems from the original wounds, not the original sin? And Jesus Christ came to heal us?

What do Jesus Christ, the cross, and castration have in common? More than you think! We believe that Christ died to take away our sins. But must blood be spilt in order for us to be saved? Did Jesus have to die in order for God to forgive us? Moral influence theory offers us a different way to understand the cross. Maybe God isn’t mad at us.
